These brownies are everything they should be — crispy on the edges, gooey in the center, and packed with melted white and dark chocolate swirls. A simple recipe that feels a little fancy, perfect for sharing (or not 😉).
🕒 Prep Time: 10 mins | 🍳 Cook Time: 25–35 mins | 🍽 Serves: 8–10 pieces
🌿 Ingredients
- 150 g butter
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup self-raising flour
- ¾ cup sugar
- ¼ cup cocoa powder
- A pinch of salt
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 block white chocolate
- 1 block dark chocolate
- A handful of nuts (optional — walnuts, macadamias, or pistachios)
👩🍳 Method
- Preheat your oven to 180°C.
- Melt the butter, then add the sugar and mix well. Set aside to cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, beat the eggs and stir in the vanilla essence.
- Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt.
- Add the melted butter and sugar mixture, stirring until smooth.
- Roughly chop about one-third of each chocolate block and add them to the batter along with nuts (if using).
- Using a double boiler (bowl over boiling water), melt the remaining white and dark chocolate separately.
- Grease and line a baking tin with baking paper.
- Pour the batter into the tin and spread evenly.
- Drizzle or pour the melted white and dark chocolate over the top and lightly swirl them through the mixture — don’t overmix!
- Bake for 25–35 minutes, depending on your preference:
• 25 mins → soft and fudgy 💞
• 35 mins → more cake-like 🍰 - Let it cool for 5–10 minutes before slicing.
- Optionally, dust with icing sugar for a classic finish.
Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 5 days — if you can resist them that long 😄
🍬 Serving Tip
Enjoy warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce for extra decadence!
